Amazing Simplicity

People are always looking for the bigger better bomb to blow up their Training and bring instant success. One of my favorite quotes is "it takes a lot of work to be an over night success". On of my favorite thoughts is simple solutions solve complex problems. I get to work with a lot of great individuals who all seem to have one thing in common... the ability to be simply consistent. I have read and studied "Muscle Confusion" articles and I have concluded that if you are not challenged and encouraged by your efforts you will not continue. The most important thing in any exercise program is keeping your own attention. Find what excites you, interests you, challenges you and THEN STICK WITH IT! You need to give it some time to work. Your body thrives on movement patterns and it needs time to become efficient and graceful. You keep moving forward until that which was challenging becomes common place and then you continue building on a foundation of mobility, technique and strength. Another favorite quote: "Do today what others WILL NOT DO, do tomorrow what others CANNOT DO". There are a lot of different ways to push pull press and carry. If you like variety it can be done but you sacrifice some of the ability to measure which some people don't care about. Like a certain implement or style? jump in for at least six weeks and make technique natural then start to measure - you will be amazed. The list goes on and on but the bottom line is simple... You want to be amazed? Find a system or modality or implement - commit to learning it until it is natural then SUDDENLY after six weeks you will see the Bomb has been blowing up and you didn't even realize it.
